Why is my phone missing shots?

Arccos should collect 90% of your shots. If more than 10% of your shot are missed, please refer to the most common reasons for missing shots during a round with phone shot detection below:
  1. Here are the most common reasons for missing shots with phone shot detection:

    • Phone Position: If you're right-handed, ensure your phone is placed in your front left pocket (or front right pocket if you're left-handed).
    • Other Active Applications: Background apps using your phone’s microphone, Bluetooth, or GPS—such as hearing aids, Bluetooth speakers, phone calls, or music apps—can interfere with Arccos. Try closing other apps before starting your round.
    • Sensor Issues: Confirm that all sensors are paired and functioning properly using the ‘Club Diagnostics’ feature in the Arccos app.
    • Phone Microphone: The sensors communicate via high-frequency sound, so a dirty or malfunctioning microphone can impact shot detection. Try cleaning it gently with a microfiber towel or toothbrush. If you’re using an iPhone, you can follow Apple’s microphone testing steps to check if all microphones are functioning correctly.

    Less common reasons include:

    • Phone Case: A thick or obstructive case may block the phone's microphone. Try removing the case during play.
    • Playing at Night: Sensors rely on UV light and may not detect shots at night or just before dusk.
    • Shots within 5 Yards: If multiple shots occur within a 5-yard radius (e.g., bunker shots or flubbed chips), they may be automatically suppressed.
    • Clothing Material: Nylon, polyester, or rain pants can muffle sensor sounds. If this is a concern, using an Arccos Link or Apple Watch for shot detection may improve results.
