If I have only a Smart Laser Rangefinder, how does that work?

If you’re using the Arccos Smart Laser without a Game Tracking subscription, your experience centers on distance clarity and real-time strategy — not shot tracking.

Here’s how it works on the course:

1. Range Your Target

Use the Smart Laser as you would any premium rangefinder. When you range the flag or a target, you’ll see:

  • Actual line-of-sight yardage
  • Adjusted “Plays Like” distance that accounts for slope and live-weather conditions, including wind speed and direction

You get a complete distance number — not just elevation-adjusted yardage.

2. Automatic Pin Setting

When you range the flag, the hole location is automatically captured and synced in the Arccos App.

There’s no need to manually move the pin before putting. The app reflects the actual hole location you ranged, improving the accuracy of strategy and green visualization for that hole.

3. Use AI Strategy in the App

With your Smart Laser subscription active, the Arccos App provides:

  • Recommended club and optimal target guidance
  • Strategic input both off the tee and into the green
  • Course layout, hazard, and pin-position awareness

This is the same tour-proven AI Strategy framework built on over 1.5 billion Arccos shots. It helps you understand the higher-percentage play — while you remain in control of the decision.

4. Access Green Maps

You can view detailed green slopes and breaks directly in the Arccos App, helping you plan approach shots and read putts with greater clarity.

What You Are Not Using (With Smart Laser Only)

With a Smart Laser-only subscription:

  • Your shots are not automatically tracked
  • You do not receive strokes gained analytics
  • You are not building performance history round-over-round

That functionality requires a Game Tracking subscription.

Who Smart Laser-Only Is For

Smart Laser on its own is ideal if you want:

  • The most complete “Plays Like” distance
  • Real-time strategy guidance
  • Better decision-making before every shot
  • No commitment to full-round tracking

It’s a focused system designed to improve clarity at the moment of decision.

If later you decide you want to understand where you gain and lose strokes across your entire game, you can add Game Tracking at any time.
