Setting Pin Locations with Arccos Air: Step-by-Step Guide

Setting the pin location during your round helps improve the accuracy of your putting and approach statistics in the Arccos app.

Recording the correct pin location allows the system to more precisely measure distances to the hole and better analyze your performance around the green.

Why Set the Pin Location?

Setting the pin location is an additional way to ensure you are collecting the most precise data possible during your round.

When the pin location is recorded, Arccos can more accurately measure:

  • Putting distances
  • Approach shot proximity to the hole
  • Short game performance around the green

This helps improve the quality of the performance insights you see after the round.

When to Mark the Pin

We recommend marking the pin when you are picking your ball up from the hole at the end of the hole.

At this moment you are already standing next to the flag, which allows the device to record the most accurate location.

How to Set the Pin Location

  1. Stand next to the flagstick.
  2. Briefly press the “Marking the Pin” button located on the side of your Arccos Air device.
  3. Remain next to the pin for a few seconds while the location is recorded.

Arccos Tip

Stand next to the flag for 3–5 seconds after pressing the button.

This allows the GPS to properly triangulate your position on the green and ensures the most accurate pin placement.

What Happens Next

Once the pin location is recorded, Arccos will use that position to measure putting and approach distances on that hole.

This helps ensure your performance data is as accurate as possible when reviewing your round in the Arccos app.
