If your Smart Laser isn’t placing the Pin Arc correctly in the Arccos app, it’s usually related to GPS positioning or software versioning. Review the steps below to ensure everything is working as expected.
1. Keep Your Phone Close When Ranging the Flag
Smart Laser uses your phone’s GPS location to determine where the pin is placed inside the app.
If your phone is too far away — for example, left in the cart or on a push cart — the app may not accurately register your position when you range the flag.
For best results:
- Keep your phone in your pocket while playing.
- Stand near your ball when ranging the flag.
- Avoid leaving your phone in the cart when shooting the target.
Keeping your phone close ensures the GPS location aligns with where you are standing, which improves pin placement accuracy.
2. Confirm Your Software Is Up to Date
Outdated firmware or app versions can affect how Smart Laser communicates with your phone and processes pin location data.
Make sure:
- Your Smart Laser is running the latest firmware.
- Your Arccos app is updated to the latest version in the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Bluetooth is enabled and connected properly before starting your round.
Even if everything appears connected, running the latest firmware and app version ensures the most stable performance.
3. Start the Round Before Ranging
Pin placement requires an active round in the Arccos app.
Before ranging the flag:
- Open the Arccos app.
- Start your round.
- Confirm GPS has locked onto your course location.
If a round is not active, the app cannot correctly place the Pin Arc.
4. Still Having Issues?
If your phone is nearby, your round is active, and both firmware and app are updated but the issue continues:
- Restart the Arccos app.
- Power cycle your Smart Laser.
- Reconnect Bluetooth.
