Why do I need to give Arccos access to my phone's microphone and location?

Arccos leverages several features of your smartphone to accurately detect your shots and their locations on the course.

Microphone Access

Arccos sensors communicate with your phone using high-pitched frequencies. By accessing your phone’s microphone, the app can detect when a shot is taken and identify the club you used.

Additionally, the microphone is also used when performing a sensor diagnostics test to check if your sensors are still paired and functioning properly.

Location Services

We require location services to be enabled to track your shots accurately, even when the app is running in the background (e.g., while your phone is locked and in your pocket). You can choose either "Always" or "While Using the App" for location access, depending on your preferences.

Important Note:

Arccos will not track your location or use your microphone when the app is not actively in use. Your privacy is our priority.
