What are the In-Play Screens & Features on the Apple Watch? Follow
There are multiple in-play screens, all of which are available by swiping left or right on the Apple Watch.
GPS Distances
The main in-play screen displays distances to the front, middle, and back of the green. 'Plays Like' Distances appear in green on the right of the screen. A club recommendation to the middle of the green will be shown at the bottom of the screen along with its average distance.
Note: GPS data is dependent on the GPS mode selected. It will default to the iPhone's GPS location unless the Apple Watch is put into Airplane Mode.
Hole List
A list of hole numbers, pars, distances, and your score. You can use this screen to switch holes during play if you play holes out of sequential order, or if you want to review a previously played hole.
Tip: Tap the hole to select a previous or next hole.
Play Hole
If you need to manually put yourself into play on a specific hole (e.g. skipping holes, starting on #10, or a hole did not automatically switch), use the hole list to tap on the correct hole, and then tap Play Hole.
Shot List
The shot list displays a list of all shots taken on the selected hole. On this screen, you are able to add/delete putts with the +/- counter and select each shot to edit.
Tip: Tap the individual shot to enter the shot editing screen.
Editing Shots
When an individual shot is selected, you will have the ability to move the shot from hole to hole, add a penalty, or to delete the shot.
Putt to Chip
It is possible to change a putt to a chip on the Apple Watch. To do this, select the putt from the shot list and toggle the putt to a chip.
Pause & Resume Rounds
You are able to pause the round on your Apple Watch if you want to take a quick break after 9 holes or during a rain delay. This will save your watch battery while you are not in play. Click Resume to continue the round.
General Settings
You are able to change general settings including Tournament Mode, Metric, Haptic Feedback and Watch GPS.
In-Play Live Sync
When the Apple Watch is within Bluetooth range and not in airplane mode, every shot will automatically transfer to the iPhone. This transfer happens every time the watch app is opened and the iPhone is in range.
Live sync allows you to make edits on the iPhone, which will auto-sync back to the Apple Watch.
Tip: If you notice shots haven't synced, it's likely because your watch app hasn't been opened recently.
