Using Smart Laser with the Arccos App at the Range
To access app-connected features, you must:
- Pair your Smart Laser to the Arccos app
- Start a round in the Arccos app
Smart Laser features such as wind-adjusted “Plays Like” distances including Elevation change (slope), Live wind conditions (speed + direction), and Environmental adjustments.
If you are not in an active round, the device will function as a standard rangefinder.
What Works at the Driving Range
At most outdoor ranges, you can:
- Lock onto flags or distance markers
- Measure line-of-sight yardage
- Use slope-adjusted distance (if applicable)
This makes Smart Laser useful for:
- Dialing in carry distances
- Verifying range yardage markers
- Practicing distance control
What May Be Limited at the Driving Range
Some Smart Laser features are course-dependent and may not function the same way at a range.
These may include:
- AI Strategy guidance (designed for mapped golf holes)
- Green Maps (only available for mapped courses)
- Automatic Pin Arc syncing (requires mapped hole locations)
Driving ranges are typically not mapped within the Arccos course database, so advanced on-course strategy features may not activate.
Indoor Driving Ranges
Smart Laser requires a clear line of sight to a physical target.
It will not function properly in:
- Indoor simulator bays
- Enclosed hitting areas without visible targets
- Net-only practice environments
