Does the Smart Laser Rangefinder need an internet connection to work?

No — the Arccos Smart Laser does not require an active internet connection to measure distance.

However, certain advanced features are enhanced when connected to the Arccos app.

What Works Without Internet

Smart Laser functions as a high-performance rangefinder even without service.

You can still:

  • Lock onto the flag
  • Measure line-of-sight distance
  • Use slope-adjusted yardages

This means you can play normally even in areas with limited or no cellular coverage.

What Requires App Sync or Data Connection

To unlock the full Smart Laser experience, the device syncs with the Arccos app.

When connected, you gain access to:

  • Live wind-adjusted “Plays Like” distances
  • AI Strategy target guidance
  • Green Maps
  • Automatic Pin Arc syncing for more accurate stat tracking

Wind adjustments and environmental calculations rely on real-time data, which requires periodic app connectivity.

Why This Matters

Most rangefinders only provide static yardage.

Smart Laser goes further by combining:

  • Measured distance
  • Environmental adjustments
  • AI-powered decision support
  • Seamless app integration

Even if you temporarily lose service, you still have a fully functional rangefinder. When reconnected, advanced intelligence features resume automatically.
